Project Overview: 12 Light-Duty HOWO Foam Fire Truck for West Africa
This order includes 12 units of light-duty HOWO foam fire trucks, designed for emergency fire response, industrial safety support, and daily fire prevention work in West Africa.
My customer asked for a compact but powerful fire truck that could be operated on both urban roads and local working environments. I believe a light-duty fire truck is easier to drive, and easier to dispatch, more suitable for areas where road width, turning space, or maintenance resources may be constrained, compared to those giant heavy-duty fire truck models.
I chose the HOWO Light Duty Chassis to help my client out because it balanced the durability with the firefighting capability and long-term operating cost. It is indeed a practical solution for customers who need reliable emergency equipment without the complexity of a larger fire truck.
Why the HOWO Foam Fire Truck Was Selected?
The HOWO foam fire truck combines a reliable truck chassis with our professional firefighting system, making it just the right choice for different fire response application scenarios.

- Reliable HOWO Chassis Platform
The Sinotruck HOWO chassis brand is commonly accepted in international markets, especially in Africa, and is widely known for its tough structure, stable performance, and easy maintenance design.
For firefighting, chassis reliability is the most important thing. Fire trucks may be left parked in the station for long periods, but once there is a need, call comes in, firefighters must start as quickly as possible, moving safely, and arriving on site without any delay.
The HOWO platform provides the durability needed for this type of duty cycle.
- Compact Size for Faster Response
Light-duty fire truck is more suitable for operating in narrow streets, industrial compounds, residential areas, and small-scale towns. This ensures emergency squads have better mobility when response is urgent.
For West African cities, road conditions can vary significantly. From this side, a compact fire truck can reach more locations and respond to more dispatches than the large heavy-duty model.
- Foam Fire Fighting Capability
I strongly recommend my client go with foam fire trucks, which they can use for fire-fighting tasks where foam suppression is required or for normal fires.
Foam systems are especially useful for fuel-related fires, industrial sites, workshops, warehouses, filling stations, and logistics areas. Compared with traditional water firefighting trucks, foam can help cover burning surfaces and reduce the chance of re-ignition in suitable fire scenarios.
- Cost-Effective Fleet Expansion
For municipal buyers and private emergency teams, building a fire truck fleet must consider both purchase cost and long-term operating cost.
The light-duty HOWO foam fire truck provides a practical balance between equipment capability and budget control. It allows customers to expand fire response coverage with multiple units instead of relying on only one or two large vehicles.
- Fire Truck Configuration for Practical Emergency Use
Each fire truck was configured to support daily firefighting tasks and emergency response work. The vehicle layout was designed to give firefighters quick access to major equipment and make the operation as simple as possible.
Main Fire Fighting System

The vehicle can be equipped with key firefighting components such as:
- Water tank and foam tank
- Fire pump system
- Fire monitor
- Hose reels and fire hoses
- Equipment storage compartments
- Warning lights and siren system
- Fire-fighting control panel
- Suction pipe and related accessories
This configuration allows the vehicle to respond to common fire incidents in communities, industrial areas, and commercial facilities.
1. Practical Body Structure
For overseas markets, the fire truck body must be strong, simple, and easy to maintain. CLW designed the body structure with daily field use in mind.
The separated compartment can be customized to your needs. Fire extinguishers, hoses, tools, rescue equipment, and personal protective gear can be stored in an organized manner for faster access during emergency work.
2. Easy Operation for Fire Teams
A fire truck should not be difficult to use. For many customers, simple operation is just as important as technical performance.
The HOWO fire truck can be designed with clear control areas, practical equipment arrangement, and user-friendly firefighting operation systems. This helps reduce training pressure and supports safer daily use.
3. Production and Quality Control at CLW
For this West Africa order, CLW arranged production according to the customer’s technical requirements and delivery schedule. Each vehicle went through key manufacturing and inspection steps before shipment.
Manufacturing Process
The production process included:
1. Chassis inspection before conversion
2. Fire truck body fabrication
3. Water tank and foam tank installation
4. Fire pump and pipeline system installation
5. Electrical system and warning light installation
6. Equipment compartment assembly
7. Full vehicle inspection and testing
This process helped ensure that all 12 units were completed with consistent structure, appearance, and function.
Final Inspection Before Delivery

Before shipment, CLW inspected each fire truck’s key systems, including pump operation, piping connections, warning lights, exterior condition, compartment door function, and on-road drivability.
These inspections are essential for safety-critical vehicles like fire trucks, where every detail must support reliable operation under real emergency conditions.
As West Africa expands its urban areas, industrial facilities, logistics parks, energy projects, and public infrastructure, the demand for reliable firefighting equipment continues to grow. The delivery of these 12 light-duty HOWO foam fire trucks will help strengthen local fire response capacity and support safer operations in both communities and industrial sites.
For CLW, this project is another example of our commitment to providing practical special vehicle solutions for overseas markets. We understand that customers need vehicles that are well built, suitable for local conditions, serviceable with available maintenance capacity, and aligned with budget planning.
