In a significant move underscoring the ongoing consolidation within China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sector, BYD and Chengli Group officially cemented a comprehensive strategic cooperative relationship. The agreement was finalized during a high-level business inspection and strategic dialogue held on April 19th, paving the way for deep collaboration across the NEV industrial chain.

On the morning of April 19, Wang Jie, vice president of BYD Co., Ltd. and CEO of its Commercial Vehicle Business Group, toured the Chengli (Zengdu) Automotive Industrial Park. He was accompanied by CLW Automotive Group executives, including Vice President and General Manager of CLW New Energy Vehicle Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Ni Wentao, Group General Manager Office Service Center Director Zhang Huosheng, and Chengli New Energy Equipment Vehicle Plant General Manager Liu Hui.

The delegation from BYD was led by its vice president and CEO of the Commercial Vehicle Business Group, Mr. Wang Jie. He was accompanied by key figures, including Mr. Shu Bo, Deputy General Manager of the Bus Sales Division, Mr. Ming Jin, Hubei Regional Sales Director, and Mr. Gao Liao, Sales Manager. Their visit focused on the Chengli (Zengdu) Automotive Industrial Park, a core manufacturing base for the group.

The delegation conducted an in-depth inspection of the production workshops at Chengli New Energy Vehicle Manufacturing Co., Ltd., gaining insights into the manufacturing environment, operations, and sales models for new energy special-purpose vehicles. Vice President Wang Jie expressed high praise for Chengli’s achievements as China’s largest specialized vehicle manufacturer, noting that its sales strategies and cost-control practices offer valuable insights for BYD.

CLW has completed essential groundwork for new energy specialty vehicles, including facilities, equipment, certifications, and talent acquisition, demonstrating strong confidence in the future market.

He further outlined that Chengli has completed substantial preparatory work for its NEV special vehicle business, covering factory infrastructure, equipment, necessary government approvals, strategic planning, and technical talent acquisition, reflecting strong confidence in the future market.

The discussions culminated in a comprehensive consensus. Both sides agreed to deepen integration across the upstream and downstream segments of the industrial chain. They recognized each other as pivotal forces within the ecosystem and committed to facilitating smooth collaboration through mutually beneficial commercial policies, including sales terms and financial support mechanisms.
