At the beginning of the launch ceremony, Wang Yixiang, Director of the Special Vehicle Strategic Region at Dongfeng Co., Ltd.’s Marketing Headquarters, delivered a speech. In his speech, General Manager Wang focused on and professionally introduced the advantages and highlights of Dongfeng’s D9 chassis. He emphasized that the 9th-generation Dongfeng chassis, with its excellent power performance, reliable load-bearing capacity, and flexible modification adaptability, has become a popular choice in the special-purpose vehicle field, especially for medium-heavy duty sanitation trucks, truck mounted aerial platform vehicles, and refuse trucks. He elaborated on this from two aspects: technical highlights and applicable scenarios.

Golden Power Chain Combination — Equipped with Dongfeng Cummins D4.5NS6B240 engine (240 horsepower/820N·m) or Yuchai YCS04200-61 engine (200 horsepower/720N·m), matched with Fast 8JS85C 8-speed transmission, with a transmission efficiency of over 96%. This power combination has sufficient torque reserve during heavy-load startup (such as a 12-cubic-meter sprinkler truck fully loaded). At the same time, through intelligent fuel-saving technologies (such as EBP multi-mode switch), fuel consumption can be reduced by 8-12%, which is particularly advantageous for medium-heavy duty sanitation trucks and garbage trucks that operate for long hours.
2. High-Reliability Chassis Architecture — Load-Bearing System: Adopting 250mm double-layer straight frame (local triple-layer), front axle Dana 4.5T/rear axle Dana 8T (speed ratio 4.33-4.875), the maximum allowable load of the frame is 18 tons. For example, when the tank of a 12-cubic-meter sewage suction truck is fully loaded, the stress distribution of the frame is uniform, and there is no deformation after long-term use, ensuring the stability of sanitation trucks and other special vehicles during operation.
Suspension and Braking: Front MacPherson independent suspension + rear multi-leaf spring structure, combined with four-wheel disc brakes + ABS + EBD, the braking distance is shortened by 15% compared with similar products. Airbag suspension is optional for some models to improve stability under complex road conditions (such as aerial work platform trucks and municipal aerial platform trucks).
3. Intelligent and Comfort Upgrade — The 2025 model adds the “God’s Eye” high-level intelligent driving system, equipped with lidar, 14 cameras and 32 sensors, supporting functions such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), which significantly reduces driving risks, especially for light-duty aerial platform trucks that often operate in urban road environments. — The cab adopts a high-roof double sleeper design (width 2420mm), with the lower sleeper 840mm wide, the widest in its class. It is equipped with a 4.6kW air conditioner and NVH noise reduction technology as standard, reducing driver fatigue by 30% during long-distance driving.
4. Standardized Modification Interfaces — Power Take-off (PTO): Standard SAE Type B interface, which can be directly adapted to hydraulic pumps (such as sprinkler truck water pumps, garbage truck compression pumps), with stable power output and no additional adapters required. — Frame Layout: More than 200 standardized holes are reserved on both sides, compatible with the installation of different upper mounting brackets, shortening the modification cycle by 20%, which is conducive to the efficient production of various special vehicles such as sanitation trucks and truck mounted aerial platform vehicles.
